The Sharing Economy and the challenges of the world economic and sanitary crisis

Description :

Our project aims to analyse and to benchmark the evolution of the sharing economy during and after the Covid-19 pandemic and their economic and social consequences in three countries Lebanon, Spain and Peru representing three continents Asia, Europe and Latin America. Three Jesuit universities are involved, Saint-Joseph University of Beirut, Loyola Andalacia in Sevilla, Spain and Univesidad del Pacifico, Lima, Peru. We will study the case and the situation of the three aforementioned countries where the economic situation might be affected. Our methodology is based on a large literature review of the subject using the conceptual model adapted to the sharing economy. We will carry out a survey of 500 people (random sample) in the three countries in order to analyze and study the evolution of the situation of the sharing economy in the light of the economic and social crisis and the behavioral and health challenges and their consequences on this economic sector. We will study several variables that influence the behavior of users and suppliers of the sharing economy as well as the challenges and opportunities that this sector of the economy is facing through modeling and validation of relations.
